Wednesday afternoons 2:00 to 6:00 (when school is in session)
Open Lab is an opportunity for parents, teachers, and students in Marin County public or private schools to visit the Technology Resource Center with questions on all aspects of adaptive and standard computer technology. We have more students, teachers and families using technology than ever before and with each new piece of technology, it can be difficult to keep up with information as well as ensure that you are using it to its fullest potential. Open Lab is a free resource to our community that is meant to offer information and guidance on everything from reading, writing, and math to communication. This is also a great time to continue to learn more about a previously recommended program or tool.
Due to the popular demand for this service, we ask that you schedule in advance and be as thorough and specific as possible with the appointment form when you are scheduling your time. Sometimes parents may be referred to just "come to Open Lab" and aren't always clear why they are attending. In order to most efficiently serve you, we ask that you come with specific questions or needs in content areas of reading, writing, math, communication, organization or others. Keep in mind that all appointments are 45 minutes and you are welcome to return as often as you like. You often will be better served by targeting a single area of need and getting resources in that area in a single visit. Everyone is welcome to Open Lab including individuals from outside of Marin County Schools, but we do give preference to students in public and private schools in Marin.
SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS: If you are trying to schedule an appointment online on the same day as you are planning to come, PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE at (415) 491-6494. We often may make other arrangments if appointments aren't scheduled in advance.
