kids robotics

As Maker Spaces and Robotics and Coding clubs are happening all over Marin and are being integrated within our schools and classrooms, TRC is excited to host the first Robotics Club at TRC! This monthly group - held the 1st Saturday of each month - is designed to stimulate strategic thinking and exploration as we explore the creativity of being able to design, create and program anything that students want. There are no limits to imagination and we are excited to see students having fun while engaging their minds!

Bring your child (10 - 17 years old) to the TRC for a chance to build or program a variety of robots - we will be starting with a Lego Mindstorm EV-3. You will work in teams of 2 to program and participate in activities like moving through mazes, overcoming obstacles and designing whatever is in your imagination. Teens from Reaching Out with Robotics, the outreach program of the Tamalpais High School Robotics Team, will help lead the program.

*This event coincides with our playgroup playtimes for children ages 0 to 7 at the adaptive playground on the same site. There will be adult and teenage supervision available. Parents are responsible for their children during this time - you are welcome to drop off and pick up if it is appropriate. Space is limited so be sure to sign up as soon as possible to ensure you can attend. As this class will be offered each month, you will need to sign up each month as others will be joining as the year progresses and we want to ensure that everyone who wants to has a chance to participate. You are welcome to attend monthly if you would like however this is not mandatory.
